Custom soundfonts not working
I converted an mp3 file to sf2 and it wont open when I put it in the soundfont folder and try to use it. It gives me this message:
Cannot load SoundFont C:/Users/(my user name) /Documents/MuseScore2/Soundfonts/(soundfont).sf2

Which program did you use to convert the mp3 to an sf2?

I just grab an mp3 and change the type to .sf2

That ain't gonna work. You can't change the format of a file by just changing its extension.

That's like telling your car it is now a plane; it still won't take off…

That's what I was afraid of. I've never created a sound font file, but I know your method won't work.
I cannot speak for the following which I once saw:
https://cloudconvert.com/anything-to-sf2
maybe it will help?

Seems to define "anything" as "sfArk only" when the target is sf2.
