switching notes between right hand and left parts
Hi everyone!
I've just been using Musescore for about a week, and it's amazing! Very happy with the possibilities, but I can't figure out how to change something from a left hand to right hand part on a grand stave.
I imported a midi file of the piano part, and it split it oddly, so that in a typical "boom-chuck" rhythm (octave bass in the left hand, three-note chord in the right hand on the off-beat) the top bass note appears as the one of the treble staff, many ledger lines down. With the right hand chord, one note will be in the treble and two in the bass.
I know about the command-shift-down combo two change staffs, but the notes stay beamed to notes in the other staff.
I suspect I might have been able to change this in some setting when I originally imported the midi file, but
is there a way to change this now?
Thanks in advance for your help. Looking forward to learning more about this excellent program!

As you have discovered, midi is a terrible option to transfer notation from one program to another. MusicXML or just XML in many programs is far better, but as you said that's for later.
To change the beaming of a specific note, select the note you want to start a new beam and using the Beam Properties palette, double click the first icon. You can play around with the other options to see what they do or read https://musescore.org/en/handbook/beams.
First symbol in the Beam palette?

Thanks! I searched deeper into forum posts and see this has been discussed before.
Thanks for your help!
