MIDI output: multiple ports

Currently I'm working on a score that requires more than 16 midi channels.
Working with Musescore own synthesizer gives no problem with this since it has plenty MIDI ports that you can choose in the mixer (with 16 Midi channels each).
Now, when I try to send my score through the MIDI output at the I/O tab, I've found that I can only choose one port, leaving me with a maximum of 16 channels.
The MIDI ports that I can choose at Musescore mixer only work with Musescore synthesizer.
A multiple midi port output would be more than useful for bigger scores.
