File will not open
Hello all,
I recently completed a piece that I slaved over for a long time. I had it open (and saved), when my computer decided to perform a windows update. So I logged back on after the update, and now I am unable to open my project. I don't have another saved version. I'm freaking out.
I am uploading a screenshot of the dialogue box that pops up when I try to open my file, as well as the Musescore file itself. Please let me know if there is anything I can do. It took a long time to complete, and I am devastated. I looked in the recent files, but an autosaved version does not come up.
Thank you,
Jimmy

The file should still be on your pc. Search for it in the Virtual store (or similar).

Good luck and let us know.
Sorry, but that file is broken beyond repait, you need to look for a backup, see https://musescore.org/en/node/52116

I was able to find the following files, but none of them were able to be opened.

However, I also found the file attached here. It has the previous day's date on it. All the corrupted files are listed with 1/10/19, but this file is 1/9/19. I'm hoping that maybe it is from the previous day, when I was in the middle of the composition. Something is better than nothing. Is there any way I might be able to recover my score with this file somehow?
Thank you,
Jimmy

Rename the file without the starting . or ending ,
We can't download it. It's a backup file that will probably be incomplete, but at least you won't lose everything.

It worked! I got a version missing the lyrics, but that is easy to input. Thank you SO MUCH! Also, a huge thank you to everyone who responded to this thread. I really appreciate the help. I'm also glad that I now know what the Virtual Store is and how to access it.
