My OS is Windows 10. I have discovered that for Musescore 3.0, when I remove the plug for my external speakers, sound does come through the internal speakers. I cannot get it to come through the external speakers. For Musescore 2.0 all works as expected. (Wondering if there is some Windows configuration setting I need to tweak for the 3.0 program.)

Now fixed! Had to do Edit->My Preferences->set Device to Microsoft Sound Mapper-Output. (It is an arcane world.)
