Can't access Text Line properties

I'm using Text Lines to make barre' indications for guitar. As you know, you get a "VII" by default. By selecting Line Properties on the Text Line, you can change that to the fret you want.

This has always worked in the past, including the first version of MuseScore 3. But today I tried it, and I can't get to the Line Properties. I just get "Edit Element" which goes nowhere. The only thing that comes to mind is that somehow it got broken in the latest MuseScore update. (Or I have suddenly forgotten how to do it, but I can't imagine what I might have forgotten.)

Does it work for the others?
