2 BUGS : very long startup and wider resolution after installing the Drumline extension
Muse Score 3.0.5 x64 installed on my Windows 10 laptop.
I installed the Drumline extension. Directly after, the GUI was bigger so I decided to close Muse Score. I relaunched it but it took more than one minute to open (whereas 5 seconds before installing the extension). And the resolution was the same.
To sum up, there are two problems:
1) The Drumline extension make the GUI bigger
2) It lengthens a lot the startup of Muse Score
I tried to uninstall the Drumline extension. Muse Score instantly crashed but the extension was removed. All was back to normal (very fast startup, consistent resolution, no Drumline installed) excepted that I lost my toolbar customizations.
Just for the record. I love the software and I want to thank the devs for the hard work. This is my first post. Sorry for my english. I hope you understand the problems.

The Drumline extension takes longer to start, because it does so much more. It is known and not something likely to change for now. It is the price you pay for more features.

About the GUI getting bigger, sorry, I can't help, because I don't want to install MDL specifically because of the slow startup. Someone else will surely see this and help if they can.

Thank you for the information. Now I know why it takes longer to start, even I think it's not normal at all (ten times longer for two pallettes and ~20Mb of sounds) and that the extension should be rewritten for Muse Score 3.

It is not the palettes that cause the startup delay, it definitly is the huge soundfont

Perhaps like the default MS soundfont, there should be two versions of the Drumline sound font--a smaller optimized size being installed by default, the larger, higher quality requiring additional downloading and selection in the synthesizer settings.

MDL uses Zerberus sound fonts rather than Fluid. These are by nature larger sounds and are required for the special articulations to work properly.
Recently, I filed the MDL GUI issue in the tracker.

However, the changes to GUI is apparently by design? I had requested that the extension not presume how the user wants to have their workspace setup. In my humble opinion, the extension should only install the added features (e.g., soundfont and palettes) without significant changes to general GUI workspace.

Thank you for the the message. This extension is definitely not optimised, even if it is a very good idea.
