Using full Musescore 2.3.2 for Windows from an Android tablet

• May 8, 2019 - 17:48

Just been having a play with Chrome Remote Desktop for Windows 10 and Android and it works surprisingly well. The tablet can either be used as a large track pad with automatic screen scrolling or as a remote touch screen with manual scrolling.

Sound is played on the tablet and overall performance is good, (even on an old Celeron powered laptop).

It's pretty much a mouse oriented experience since the Android keyboard doesn't usually have keys like Ctrl, Alt, PgUp etc. but you can get around this to some extent but adding some extra shortcut keys in MS's preferences.

I've only tested it over local WiFi but it should also work over the internet.

Yes, I have done this too using an iPad and even using my phone, first using Splashtop but then Chrome Remote Desktop. And yes, it works over the internet, and performance is not as terrible as one might imagine.

Does require you to have your computer up and running of course.
