Unexpected expansion of a bar and the notes within
How do I revert to a normal sized bar as one of my bars has unexpectedly expanded and I cannot find a solution to this problem. Can anyone help?

Can you share the score?
My guess is there is either stretch applied (which you can reset by selecting it and going to Format / Stretch) or else there is a line or page break attached, in case, delete it. If that doesn't help, then indeed we would need you to attach your score so we can do better than guess.
