When using a Grand Staff, why does a rest replace the notes I have in the Treble Clef?
When I try to add notes to the Bass clef, the note directly above it in the treble clef is replaced with a rest. How do I fix this? I attached a picture.

Check the (Input Bar) N drop-down list

You are in Insert mode, not in the normal note input mode, it does not replace a note with a rests, it adds a rest
To be clear: insert mode is for very special purposes only, under normal circumstances you should never use it - unless you want exactly what you are seeing here :-)
