Beam properties of tuples

Is there anyway to customize within the beam properties of a time-signature the grouping of beams in tuple territory?

For example, let there be a 2/4 measure, and yet let it utilize triples throughout (twelve 16th-notes). Now say you want the first two triples to be beamed together (six 16th-notes) and the next triples to be beamed together. This can be done manually of course, but is there way to have this become default behavior? If not, would there be some logical way to have this be implemented within the beam-grouping properties of a time-signature? Maybe this could be an additional feature some how if it could be done cleanly.
