Getting new SoundFont to work in my score
I halve downloaded 2 soundfonts but cannot get them to play in my score. I have followed all the instructions, including closing musescore and reopening. It plays the new sound in the demo score (Pictures at an Exhibition) but when I switch to my own score, it is silent. I can reset the piano sound and that works in both scores. So why can I not hear the new sounds in my own score?

What's the name of the soundfont? Link?
Are you sure they are GM?
Have you tried with the soundfont recommended in the manual : Soundfont

The names are voice_of_heaven (an SF2 file)
and choir-soft-sf2 (also SF2 file)
http://www.sf2midi.com/soundfonts/file-detail/choir-soft-sf2-4057.html
I can't find the link to the first file.
Why does the demo score play the new sound (not the default piano) when asked but not my own score?
I don't get it. If the new sound didn't play in either I would expect the file to be at fault.
Any ideas?
Thank you.

MuseScore supports well GM soundfont. So with all the instruments. I don't think this one is GM.
Somthing to try:
With one of these soundfonts, if demo plays, open your score and try to go to Display -> Mixer and select Yamaha Grand Piano
