Too many beats per bar?
Hi,
I'm new to using this software and still just trying to get the hang of inputting notes.
When I add a note, it doesn't delete the corresponding rest... Instead, it increases the length of the bar. For example in a measure of 4/4, I try to add a quarter note and the length of the measure increases to 5 beats per bar. See the corresponding image for what I mean.
What am I doing wrong? I watched a couple of video tutorials, and it seems to me I'm doing everything right...

See that little + above the measure? That means you have an unregular ,measure, one that has more beats that the current time sig dictates. I guess you might accidetially have used the insert mode
