Part-specific (unlinked) text frames
Hi,
I was trying to add a text frame to a part, so that I could add lyrics to just a specific part (vocal), when I noticed that the text frame was linked across all the parts in my score.
I did observe that I am able to control the visibility of the text in the frame on a part-specific basis, but not the actual frame itself.
It would be great to be able to use a text frame to show a big block of text that's only available on one part.
Thanks,
Jer

The frame and it's content is linked, their properties are not, so make the text invisible and change the farm's size and distance settings

How do I change the size of the text frame to be smaller than its invisible contents?

Double click the dotted frame. A square will appear at the bottom middle of the frame you can drag. You can also click the frame and change the frame settings in the inspector.

This does not appear to be possible for text frames.

Click the dotted line and in the inspector you can make the bottom margin a negative number to make the frame smaller. I didn't realize double clicking does not work. I don't usually use text frames, I usually use horizontal and vertical frames.

I don't know that you can currently, although arguably it should do this automatically.
I've been using vertical frames rather than text frames for invisible text, because I can size them as I see fit.
