Pickup Measure
I am a complete novice.
I am entering a violin-cello 2 voice piece into Musescore 3.3.4.24412 on a Mac running MacOS 10,15.2 (Catalina). The second movement, in cut time, starts with a 16th note pickup. According to the PDF manual I down loaded, I can right click in an empty part of the measure and a Measure Properties window should appear and use the nominal measure duration to define the pickup measure. I get no response to right clicking in the measure. How do I accomplish this in this combination of Musescore/ MacOS?
Thanks for any help.

Are you sure you are right clicking? On most Mac systems, that would be Ctrl+click, or two-finger tap. Measure Properties won't appear with away, but you'll see a menu with that option (at the bottom). Be sure the pointer is actually within the measure, and within the staff, when you do this.

Thanks. I guess in all the years I’ve used a Mac, I’ve never had to right click. I was trying to do it with the mouse as if it were a Microsoft machine and th@t doesn’t work. Your suggestion solved my problem.

I have another question. Musescore is starting measure numbering at the pickup, so the first full measure is labeled 2. Can this be changed so the first full measure is labeled 1?
Thanks

If you create that pickup during score creation, it is by default excluded from measure count.
If you do this manually afterwards, then in the measure properties (where you changed the duration) also check the
