Wusescore on Windows XP
Hello. I needed to install Musescore on a Windows XP. I went from this computer to the download section, where I was asked to download version 2.3.2. However, this program does not start. Tell me, please, is it possible to install Musescore on Windows XP and how?

MuseScore 2.3.2 should run on Windows XP. But neither is supported any longer.
The last version I had running on Windows XP was 2.0.1, after that I switched to Windows 7 (and I'm currently in the process of switching to Windows 10, as Windows 7 goes out of support this week)

Whoa, you only switch versions of windows as they come out of support? Well, have you instead tried Windows 8.1? It has less bloatware than 10.

Yes, as without support there are no security fixes and without those connecting such a computer to the internet is way too dangarous. Also MuseScore 3 won't run on Windows XP.
Windows 8.1 is still supported (for another 3 years), but I have a strong dislike for it. Maybe 8.1 is better, but 8 was a horrible mess (as, traditionally, is every 2nd OS Microsoft puts out, 95, ME, Vista, 8, vs. 3.11, 98, 2000, XP, 7 and 10)

Well Windows 10 is the one with all the bloat and privacy infringing stuff. I use it because I don't really care and I try to hide the bloat as much as I can.

All of which can get switched off.
XP is dead as it can be, out of support since almost 6 years! Nobody at his right mind should be using this any longer, possibly except for some standalone computer, not connected to any network.
Whatever, no point in an OS flameware...

Buying a Mac or switching to Linux might be options for you then.

If the computer still needs to run Windows XP for some other purpose then installing ubunto studio in dual-boot mode might be an idea. I use it (ubuntu studio 18.04, MS, 3.3.4) all the time but occasionally boot into Windows for some very old, niche software.
