Drum Input Palette (3.4): problem with mouse-entry of notes
The changeover to a single-click interface means that mouse-entry of notes from the drum Input palette (DIP) no longer works as it should. One possible solution is simply to restore the MS 3.3.4 behaviour. But perhaps the entry of notes could be improved in another way:
- Single-click an instrument in the DIP to select it.
- After selecting the instrument, a single click on the instrument or the staff enters a note.
- To select another instrument, click on that instrument.
- Repeat step 2.
- And so on …

The current behavior of the drum input palette is an unintended side effect of the single click behavior for the normal palettes.
Expect a 3.4.2 within the next days that will revert the behavior of the drum input palette back to what it was.
A larger effort to review possible improvements to drum notation input has been triggered because of this, so I would expect some more forum posts (including from Daniel) to pop up and continue this revision process.
