Can I save the tempo for the Play Panel to be used for all new scores?

While I'm working on a piece, many times I want to play it at a slow tempo to catch errors and edit. When starting MuseScore again the tempo always revers back to 120 bpm. I noticed that when you create a new score, the default tempo offered is 120. Can you change it and somewhat save it? Maybe creating a template with a lower tempo and opening the template could work, except that the key, parts and other features may not be exactly what you want.
