Composing orchestra pieces in Musescore
Can I add these numbers circled in blue in Musescore to indicate which part of that instrument is playing?

the numbers are not the problem (long/short instrument name in staff properties) the text in the middle more so
Create a score. Add a flute. click on the flute in the adding instruments dialog box and add another Stave.
Add the bracket and adjust its length.
Right-click on the top stave, go into Stave/Part Properties and enter 1.2., several Return key presses, Flute, more blank lines, 3.
