The BMP will vary depending upon Tempo marks and any settings you may have applied in the Play panel. Click on a Tempo mark and look up its BMP in Inspector.
If there is no tempo text, it'll be 120 BPM (actually 120 QPM, Quarter notes Per Minute)
If there is a tempo text, select it and check its BPM setting in Inspector
The Play Panel will show it too

And see #291727: Improve tempo indication in Play Panel to reflect time signature which suggests an improvement so that the "beat" in BPM would reflect the denominator of the time signature rather than being fixed as 1/4 notes. (Taking this opportunity to bump it!)

True. The new score wizard in 3.5 though tries to get it right now (the fix for #105936: Tempo entered in Create New Score wizard always uses quarter note)
