making samples of music pieces
I don't know if musescore has the ability to take portions of songs for a listener to sample. If so could you direct me to that portion? If not is there a way musescore could be used to do so?

It's not clear what you mean, but you can copy and paste portions of a song into another file or wherever else you might want.

Well I want to sell the junior musical I wrote and I want people to hear protions of the songs. Usually there is a fade in fade out kind of setting. I just wondered if musescore had that.

Well, yes, as I said, since MuseScore has cut and paste, just find the portion you want people to hear and copy and paste them to a new score. You can add crescendo and diminuendo if you want them to fade in or out. Of course, MuseScore hs no facility to sell your scores at all, so presumably you have some sort of website in mind for that. And I would guess that website allows you to upload audio samples. So you'd export those samples as MP3 or whatever then upload them to your sales site.

Or it might be easier and offer more precise control to export the whole song to mp3 and use an audio editor like Audacity to do the cutting and fading.
