no beam problem
i have reposted the score at https://musescore.com/user/22400121/scores/6222380.
in the second measure there are two whole notes which i want to beam together, i highlighted the first note then went to the beam palette and clicked on the first beam on left and nothing happened, then tried clicking second note and second beam symbol, also tried dragging but no dice. Any suggestions would be most helpful. thanks again.

Not sure how ties and tremolos would help here?

No, this is not a duplicate. In this thread Philip wants to put beams over whole notes. That would be a strange thing to do, except if what he really wants is tremolo for which this notaion is used in older scores.

Guess the fact that the sample score is the same as for that other thread, and also doesn't even contain any whole note, tripped me off ;-)
