Crashing and not auto-saving on Mac Catalina 10.15.5

I have had Muse score 3.4.2 crash on me about 4 times this morning. The first 3 times it restarted from where I left off, but the fourth time there was no option to re-open the file, and I can find no fie on my system that was newer than yesterday. I went in and checked the settings in the Preferences pane and saw that Auto Save was on with Save every: 2min

So my questions are:
1) Am I the only one with this problem?
2) Are auto-save files stored somewhere other than in the "Scores:" directory
