Laissez vibrer tie
Is there an actual way to do this (see picture)? Is the only option to make the "tied notes" invisible (2nd voice)?

A common method is to add a "grace note after" and tie to that, then make it invisible. There is a shorter version of that symbol on the articulations palette, or you can just add other variations of this from the Symbols palette (press "Z" to display).

I know this is the most common of several work-arounds, although creating an l. v. tie on the last note of the final measure can stil be a bit problematic. I hope this is a deficiency that is addressed in version 4.

Incidentally, I've never known whether the L. v. glyph should be referred to as a "tie" or a "slur."
