Slurs, ties and dynamics
Hi,
I am in charge of writing and the music for all the musical performances at my school. I also write a lot of scores in my free time. To find any mistakes in my scores I use the program's playback feature (I have a windows laptop ). There were two things I noticed that wasn't playing back accurately
1. Slurs and/or ties weren't always playing back together rather as separate notes and
2. The dynamics only lasted for a bar, even if I dragged the line for longer.
Does anyone have any tips because it would help me immensely?
Thank you very much,
Pentatonic5
P.S. This is my first time posting something here so apologies if this is the wrong spot.

Welcome, Tip #1 - post the score (the mscz file) that is giving you the problems. Then someone can check the score and see where the problem might be.

Tip #2: read the entire handbook at least once, front to back ;-)
There is a difference between ties (https://musescore.org/en/handbook/ties) and slurs (https://musescore.org/en/handbook/slurs), tied notes won't be play back, slurred notes will.
For adjusting hairpins, if you're talking about it, see: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/hairpins#adjust-length.
