octave change
when i change the instrument, it raises it up by an octave. it screws it up entirely. i saw a similar question on a muse score discussion, and it was not meaningfully answered. very irritating.

Then it either is now or was before an octave transposing instrument.
Could also be either the old or new clef was an octave clef - with the little 8 by it. Presumably setting the new transposition and clef to match the old would do the trick. In order to understand and assist better, we'd need you to attach a sample score.
