credit card

• Sep 3, 2020 - 01:04

I have been trying to subscribe to get Musescore Pro, so I can use the download option. I used two different credit cards and it does not process. Both cards are in good status because I use them for everything. I emailed the support service and I was told they can't help me.
Does anyone have the same issue?

If I have a payment that fails, I can get in touch with the credit card company and ask why it failed. Is that something you can do?

Did you check in which country the payment is processed? If your card is from another country, you may want to get in touch with the credit card company and let them know that you want to do a purchase abroad. Sometimes this is also called a "travel notice".

If I start MuseScore3 and click "Help -> About" I see "Copyright (c) 1999-2020 MuseScore BVBA ...". BVBA suggests Belgium, but that doesn't mean that the payment is also processed there.

I hope this helps.

PS: I assume that you already double-checked the credit card number, expiration date, security code, address, etc.

Well, I have a somewhat connected issue: my subscription was about to be renewed but the transaction was unsuccessful. I thought it is because my card was about to be expired in March. So I updated the info, inserted new card info, but still it didn't work. I asked the support for other options, like if I could use bank transfer or make the payment myself, but they replied to me with one sentence that my subscription was cancelled and I need to buy it again. I am quite disappointed because it seems like they haven't even read my message and after many years being a member and recommanding Musescore to eveyone interested, it doesn't feel very welcoming. This community was always very helpful so I didn't expect such unresponsive approach. :-(

Do realize the score-sharing website musescore.com is an international affair and that their support staff are not necessarily native English speakers. So I'd suggest going back over there to that website and trying them again, just explaining a built more clearly. In any event, the support staff on the score-sharing website musescore.com really has nothing to do with the community here - we remain as supportive as ever in helping people use the MuseScore music notation software!
