Collaborating with a student
I am new to Musescore. I have a young student that is working on his first composition. Currently we are doing lessons through Zoom. Is there a way for us to share the score so that we can work on it together?
Thanks

Zoom is a bit risky, they tell me. Why not share on .com, make the scores private and share the secret link?

Use an account on musescore.com or put it on another cloud storage that both of you can access. On musescore.com you can make it private so no one else will see it if you want to. The only thing is that you both need the login info to upload updates. The good thing is that you can use Save Online to save your updates from within the program.

But there is currently no built in support in MuseScore to work in parallel on the same score. That is, you cannot work on a score simultaneously with your student and see his (or her) updates as they are made, in your copy of the score, and he se yours in his score.
What you can do is of course to share the screen over zoom/google meet/microsoft teams/etc and see the same instance of the composition. Making playback work for both might or might not work.

I wasn't thinking that they would work on it at the same time and see edits real time. If that's what they want, I don't think that's possible. MuseScore 4 is supposed to have a collaboration function, but I have no idea if it will be real time or not.
