I noticed this too, the release notes for 3.5.1 claims the latest version to be 3.5.1.297079288..., but the version I downloaded from this site is 3.5.1.293615790.
Should be fixed, can you try again?
It should report 186bf15
It's currently downloading musescore-12ab1d9 which is still wrong :(
Cross post
As far as I can tell this is fixed
Fixed: where, how?
On the musescore.org download page, somehow that was not redirecting to the correct version on GitHub
Nope. Last try, just right now, and always the same revision (daa5fb7) : OS: Windows 10 (10.0), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.5.1.291292197, revision: daa5fb7
Works for me, today (downloaded and installed):
OS: Windows 7 SP 1 (6.1), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.5.1.297079288, revision: 186bf15
No.
(tried 2 times on musescore.org/fr, and musescore.org/en: no difference)
OS: Windows 10 (10.0), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.5.1.291292197, revision: daa5fb7
Why would I get a different one when pressing the "Download for Windows (64-bit)" button on https://musescore.org/en/download than you?
I don't know. It's up to you to tell me, not me, simple user.
I'm a simple user myself, at least as far as this website issue is concerned...
At least the problem does not reproduce reliably...
@Howard-C @mike320 can you check please
There is a big problem. I just installed it on my other computer (Windows10 too). I hadn't taken the time to do it until now, and I had version 3.4.2 on this computer.
Well, believe it or not, I'm still getting that wrong/old version: OS: Windows 10 (10.0), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.5.1.291292197, revision: daa5fb7

Yes it's fixed for me, I have "OS: Windows 10 (10.0), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.5.1.297079288, revision: 186bf15".

Could it be cached somewhere on your internet access device? Or your internet provider? Have you tried in chrome F12, then right click on the refresh icon to the left of the url, a pop up menu opens with 3 options, last one is empty cache and hard reload, then retry?
OS: Windows 10 (10.0), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.5.1.293615790, revision: 12ab1d9
Installed the above a few minutes ago using the Download for Windows (64 bit) link (https://musescore.org/en/download).
That's indeed a wrong one and the one reported further up too, but different from what @cadiz1 and @mike320 reported.
What a mess!
As far as I can see, it's not a browser problem. I use Firefox, it is up to date (version 81.0.2). As a precaution, I emptied the boot cache. No change.
Then, I tried with Vivaldi browsers, then Edge, then Chrome (specially installed, I never use this browser). Result: none, I always get the same unexpected revision: daa5fb7
What works well here is the link to the GitHub page (https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/releases/tag/v3.5.1) and that's it.
For now, I'm living with that.

Only logical explanation I can think of would be that the musescore site is replicated across servers in different countries for performance reason, and that page would have had a replication issue in your country...
Yes, very likely a CDN issue
"that page would have had a replication issue in your country..."
Probably not, since on the French forum (https://musescore.org/fr/node/311498), it works for some users, and not for some others...😱
CDN (Content Delivery Network) does not necessarily work by country.
"CDN (Content Delivery Network) does not necessarily work by country."
Okay, I am definitely ignorant of this kind of consideration.
The most complicated tasks in computer science are 1. cache invalidation and 2. naming ... things ;-)
now 3.5.2 gets downloaded (but see https://musescore.org/en/3.5.2#comment-1033438 ff)

I receive this revision: bb09de0 (the good one?)
At the least, I observe the issue related to Basic workspace reset is solved now with this version.
But why is it notated, Unstable Prerelease (for version 3.5.2) ?
They're working on it. That's what the comment Jojo pointed to vaguely mentions.
@cadiz1 didn't you read what I wrote and linked to?

Now, yes.
