problem hooking up Casio keyboard with midi to my computer

I have a Casio WK-210 keyboard with a midi out port. I have connected it to my one year old Dell laptop via a USB cable and navigated through the edit function to Preferences but cannot get any further. The drop down window on midi input shows no options. What should I do?
