Student notation
Good morning. I am a teacher for high school music. I came across a music notation software through muse score and wanted my students to ONLY use the notation part of muse score. I was told that the notation part of musescore was free. How can I get my students access to this software? Does each student need to make an account?

At the top of this screen you will see the word DOWNLOAD. This is one way to get to the page for the free download of MuseScore.

That its what one of my students did and it sent them to having to do a free trial and a monthly subscription. Do they have to make a muse score account to access the music notation?

From the download page (https://musescore.org/en/download ) you can download the software (also in the portable version) to install. It is complete, open source and free.

They need to be on musescore.org and click download at the top of this page. It will take them to a page where they can select their type of computer and download the program for their computer. Try it for yourself on this page. If they are being prompted to pay for anything, they are on musescore.com which is the upload site and offers some benefits for uploading and downloading score if they subscribe there, but there is no need to pay anything for the program, ever.
