Specify rehearsal marks in Staff / Repeat Text
It would be really helpful if there was a way to include rehearsal marks in Staff / Repeat text, complete with the box drawn around the rehearsal mark. That way, instructions like the one in the picture below could be spelled out with minimal effort.

Every text element has a frames option so if you use several staff or system texts, you can put a frame around each. This of course does not affect playback. This type of notation is not currently supported in MuseScore.
Those boxed letters are just characters in a specific font. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enclosed_Alphanumeric_Supplement, and then see if any fonts you have provide these.

What if I want to type something more than a single letter, like say "Intro" as my rehearsal mark?

Works too

Assuming you mean you want the boxed "Intro" to appear within another text, no direct way to do that unless your font supports such a thing via OpenType. Some probably do, but I don't have any leads. Otherwise, if you'd like to reproduce that particular aspect of handwritten scores, you'd need to do so with a second text placed over the main one.
