Beaming not working across barlines
I want to beam between barlines, very common in Beethoven music for example. I have both versions 3.5 and 3.6, not working at all... am using the beam properties from the tools palette, I select the last note of the preceding measure, and the first note in the next measure, and double-click on the middle beam, doesn't work, also have tried Beam Start

Beaming across barlines should work, but not if they are on different systems. Consider sharing the score here and telling us which notes to inspect.
No need to select the last note of the preceding measure, and no need to double-click. SIngle-click the first note of the second measure, single-click beam middle, it will work if the notes to be connected are in the same voice and on the same system. You might first need to reset other beams to "auto" if you've previously been fiddling with them trying to figure this out.
