Steps:
1. Make a score with many staves,
2. Put notes in every staff on measure x, some chords, some single notes
3. Rather than apply the same dynamic one at time to reach staff at the start of measure x, click to select the first note of every staff in measure x and click on a dynamic marking to apply
4. Now you have to delete the duplicate dynamics on the staves with chords because they look wierd. This should not be necessary.
Workaround: use ctrl click to individually select notes before applying, but this is slower.

I'm not understanding step 3. I tried create a range selection that encompasses the first note/chord of every staff in the usual ways - select one, Shift+down to extend - and then clicking a dynamic in the palette. I didn't experience any problems. Probably best to attach a specific score and more precise instructions.
I've experienced this on earlier versions, but I guess its been fixed recently.
certainly no change in the past week since this issue was raised

It's been an issue as long as I've used Musescore. It's funny that I never reported it until it was fixed.
