Musescore 3.6 not playing

Musescore is not playing my music. The playback button is greyed off. I have tried deleting then downloading it a few times but this has not worked. Also if i open generic muscore from desktop, the blue box opens then it simply closes the window. It only opens if i open a musescore document.
