sounding of chords
In the piece "Be still my soul" I do not hear the chords at the beinning of each bar. When I use edit/text/chord symbol adn enter C I hear a C chord when I hit space. However I expect to hear the chords and I fon't.
Now look at "Stay with me till the morning"; now I get the behavious I expect; the chord sounds properly when called for above the score; Am I right to be confused or is this the proper behaviour? There is a difference between the playback style in the two pieces

"Be Still My Soul" has it's style set to not have chords playback. To turn it on:

Many thanks, both. Yes I was puzzled because this effect happened in one of my scores and not another so the initial setting would seem to have been different in the two cases.

Scores created before chord symbol playback was supported (at MuseScore 3.5) have it turned off by default, so people aren't surprised by scores that never played chord symbols before suddenly having them play now. You can force even older scores to have it turned on using the setting in Edit / Preferences / Advanced, you need to turn off the "score/harmony/play/disableCompatibility" option.
