I'm trying to download "Add and remove courtesy accidentals" but it is not responding when I click on the link. It's like the link is dead. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Strange, not just that plugin but all that directly link to Github.com and rely on that to deliver a zipped archive.
You'd need to go to https://github.com/heuchi/courtesyAccidentals instead and download all the files from there.
Or try https://downgit.github.io/#/home?url=https://github.com/heuchi/courtesy…

Thanks JoJo. Went to github and downloaded zip. When I open the zip from my download file (Mac) I get the Readme text, etc. but no direction to add to Musescore. When I check plugins in Musescore there are plugins but not this one.

So do I just add the whole folder "courtesyAccidentals-master to Preferences?

Most plugins are provided as ZIP archives: download the plugin's .zip file and uncompress (unzip) it to one of the directories mentioned below (depending on your OS)

It works. Thank you JoJo and Shoichi. You guys rock! Is there any other plugins that you would recommend?

No, not to preferences but to plugins, here to ~/Library/Application Support/MuseScore/MuseScore 3/plugins.

I unzipped the file into my downloads folder (Mac Big Sur). MuseScore3 is in my documents folder. I dragged the unzipped file into the Plugins folder in MuseScore3. I don't see any Library/Application Support/MuseScore/MuseScore3/plugins3/plugins path. When I open the Plugin Manager "removeCourtesyAccidentals" is now present. I am hoping it works. I will let you know. Thanks!

Sorry, I meant ~/Documents/MuseScore3/Plugins

I'm seeing this too. Does anyone have any idea what;s up with that? It seems you just can't download these plugins directly any more, but why?

Seems github changed (or broke) the mechanics for downloading the entire repo or a branch as a zip file

So, does someone understand what broke so a bug report can be filed to them, or else, what we need to change on our end to work with their new system?

I guess I meant more, what the site folks would need to do to automate this to fix the existing broken, and of course, how they are and how to inform them. In other words, do we know who needs to do something about this, and do they know they need to do something about it and what that is?

I agree. There must be a protocol for fixing bugs like this. Perhaps it is low on the Musescore "to do" list?

No idea whether where and how to report this to the Github.com folks

That's what I was getting at. Musescore having a protocol to communicate with Github. I'm sure they would like to at least know about it.

It might be a musescore.org issue after all, the URL does work, when entered onto a browser directly, and also if using "download link" in Chrome

Hah! I got it to work without those trickery, by changing the URLs from http to https
Hmm, maybe not, worked once but not anymore after that. So see above...

Perhaps a browser issue? Vivaldi (4.0) happily downloads them straight from clicking on those links on the plugin page.
