Automatic Chord Writing?
Hello! Well I don't want to sound dumb, but is there any way that MuseScore can write chord names automatically? I want to include them in my song for my high school band's guitar player to play, but I don't know how to write them. I know how to insert them and whatever but I'm clueless on how to write them in general. Thanks in advance!

Not in MuseScore directly, but have a look at http://musescore.org/en/plugins, there are plugins that may help

i dont understand plugins
Its very difficult for a computer to get these right as there can be numerous meaning from similar note. Do you under stand triads? If so, just take every place you think a chord name should be and work out the triad. That may get you closer.
Regards and good luck.
If I just wrote a melody in musescore 3. Can musescore create the proper chords in base clef

No, but there are plugins that try to identify chords for you which you might want to look at:
https://musescore.org/en/project/chord-identifier-musescore-3-port although I think it needs more than just a one-line melody and relies on some notes already in the bass.

There is no such thing as "the proper chords". Every single musician who sees a melody would harmonize it different. It's certainly possible to create an AI algorithm to generate one possible harmonization, but getting it to match the harmonization you have in your head or might prefer to hear, that's extremely unlikely to happen. Much better to study the basics of harmony so you can learn to find chords for yourself, or if it's just a one-time thing, maybe talk to someone you know who does have a good sense of harmony and explain the particular sound they are going for, give them a copy of your melody, and ask them to help.
