Corrupted Score Crashes When I Attempt to Fix It
I have a score I've been working on for a while, but when I returned, a time signature was missing, and measures were...inexplicably nonsensical. I tried cutting the affected notes and pasting them back in after correcting the measures, but when I pasted, Musescore would crash. (The gavotte should be in 4/2 time.) This happened every time, and I'm not sure what to do. Thanks in advance!

I think the note durations themselves are correct, but the measures' lengths aren't. When I cut everything out of the measures, I put in the correct time signature, fixing the measure lengths (?), but pasting the notes back into them causes Musescore to crash.

I'm unable to fix the score because the time signature is missing, making fixing the measures impossible due to the crashing. Is there anything I can do about this? I tried making a new score and pasting everything from the original there, but if I try to paste the notes from the corrupted movement, Musescore crashes.

You could try unzipping the .mscz file and editing the .mscx file - but take a copy first.

Better? : 1Harpsichord_Suite_No._1_in_A_Minor.mscz
(i.e. export your corrupt file in XML format, reopen with MuseScore and add the 4/2 time signature for the Gavotte)

This is a lot better, though there are some discrepancies. I can fix them, however. Thanks!

Ok. The questions now are: when, exactly, and why (which was the goal ?) have you removed the 4/2 time signature of your score?
In reply to Ok. The questions now are:… by cadiz1
I didn't remove the time signature; I think it disappeared by itself.

It's impossible. Try to remember. E.g. problem/confusion to enter the pick-up measure (the E 8th) with deletion of measure, beats etc. ? Or related other thing?

If it's impossible, I must have deleted it accidentally, but I definitely don't remember seeing any corruption before reopening the score. To make the pick-up, I edited measure properties before entering the E and set it to read 4/2 but be 1/8.
