Collaboration on Accelerated Keyboard Scores
Collaboration on “Accelerated Keyboard Scores”
As with shaped notes for Vocal, (movable Do), I am experimenting with shaped notes to replace sharps and flats, or more specifically the black keys notes on the keyboard with a single shaped note that means the same as the black keys on the score.
Instead of having sharps and flats in the stave there are simply notes, some standard, all of the white keys remain as they currently are and the black key notes become a house shaped graphic notating their direction by being moved upwards or downwards to match their spacing and position on the keyboard as well as the roof point that shows the direction of movement. There is no longer a need for sharps, flats, natural, or incidentals as these all have one and only one graphic stave location and shape which means it is a black key with no key signature to keep in mind and translate a note to while playing.
It is not difficult for anyone to use this system because it is far simpler than negotiating the many key signatures that make up the more complex system. What I am looking for is someone with the programming skill who can develop the two added note shapes that will replace the black keys used in the score so that it can be digitized with an OMR, converted to MIDI, printed and played.
I am uploading the original score format and the new Accelerated Keyboard Score proposal. In order to make this work efficiently in the computer age it is possible to OMR scores, convert, and play them with in minutes. I think it will make the keyboard much easier to learn as each key, (black or white), has only one graphic symbol. There is no longer any need to learn alpha names for the keys either and chords are already displayed in similar graphics chord playing stringed instruments such a guitars. What is much more meaningful for music theory is moving to the movable Do system where chords are refereed to in roman numerals rather than the less meaningful alpha characters. I, IV, V, V7 etc.
Incidentally I developed this Accelerated Keyboard Score because I have suffered a stroke and found that I can no longer do the key signature translations in my mind which left me able to manage only music written in a few keys with difficulty. With the Accelerated Keyboard Score the notes are played just as they appear on the score without the need of learning or remembering key signatures. I have found that a person, who has learned the traditional keyboard score, adapts very quickly to this new and simpler format.

The first hurdle to cross would be to get the two fonts for the ebony/ black keys added to the MuseScore fonts and properties assigned as with the solfege movable Do shaped notes. Could someone please direct me to the person who would be responsible to getting these two shaped notes added to the MuseScore fonts? the examples of use is shown in file: "Ebony black note Keyboard Shaped Note Score.JPG" - Thanks!

The MuseScore notation fonts follow the SMuFL standard, so getting your symbols approved in there would be the first step: https://www.smufl.org
