What makes a good music font?

Dear Musescore forum members,

I am a graphic design student from Germany, currently working on my master thesis.
In preparation for designing my first music font I would like to talk to some people who work with music fonts regularly to find out first hand, what works and what doesn’t.

So if anybody wants to talk to me about notation, typography, engraving and so on, I would love to hear from you!
