MuseScore won't start

• Mar 10, 2022 - 11:59

I installed MuseScore3 on my new laptop. It worked perfectly. I am using Windows 11. Today I opened a score that I made in September 2021. I noticed white space to the right of the composer's name. I double clicked on it. I found that when I used right arrow to go to the right of the white space then pressed backspace, the last letter of the name - to the left of the white space - disappeared. Ctrl Z put it back. I then found that pressing left arrow the same number of times as the characters and spaces in the name took me to the beginning of the name; the caret was jumping one-and-a-bit characters each time.
I closed MuseScore and started it again. A blue window with "MuseScore loading scores..." appeared. After waiting a while I clicked on the icon in the top left of the main window and "(Not Responding)" appeared after "MuseScore3"
I restarted the computer and tried again. Same result.
I uninstalled MuseScore, I downloaded MuseScore again.
It appeared as MuseScore-3.6.2.548021803-x86_64 (2).msi since the copy I downloaded on 22/01/2022 is still in my downloads folder. I clicked on open file and the install wizard ran. The MuseScore3 icon reappeared on my desktop. I double-clicked on it. Same result.
Please will you help me get MuseScore working again?

Now that I can start MuseScore again I have discovered more.
I have my laptop open and a larger screen next to it with the display extended across the two screens.
When I open MuseScore with factory settings it opens in the laptop screen and all is well. I open a score. It looks as it should. Then I drag the main window onto the big screen and click the icon near top right to fill the screen. The white space appears to the right of the composers name again. it is as though the keyboard and caret are working to one scale while the display is working to a smaller scale.
If I close MuseScore while it is on the big screen, the next time I start it it hangs up and I have to Factory re-set again. If I drag the main window back to the laptop screen before closing, next time it starts without problem.
Any ideas?

Thanks. MuseScore used to start on the big screen so I'd never encountered this before. Then I used Musescore on the laptop alone and it still started on the laptop screen when I reconnected the big screen. Understandable that the graphics go wonky but I'll try not to think about why it stops MuseScore from starting next time. :-)
