extra instruments
I have a score with one stave per system. I want to re-label that stave as Voice and add two staves of accompaniment, one in treble clef, one in bass clef. So I finish wirh the standard voice on top and 2 staves of piano underneath. When I've done that I wanr to write accompaniment ONLY in the places where the voice is silent and suppress the empty bars where the voice is present. How do i do that?
Many thqanks,
Keith

And to add your piano accompaniment, press i to invoke the edit instrument dialogue and add a piano to your score.

I don't see how that works. I already have one system with one stave which is unlabelled. I want that existing one to become Voice and I want to add the two staves of piano part. I then have my original which is now labelled Voice and I have the piano part in treble and bass.

Right click on the voice staff and from stave properties change the instrument to voice You can edit the staff name to whatever suits while you are at it

Yes I did that and was looking for an OK button to confirm that was what I wanted but saw none. When I hit x in top right to close all was as before. What am I doing wrong

There should be three buttons in the bottom right hand corner of the staff properties dialogue: Ok, Cancel and Apply. See the picture in https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/staff-part-properties#common-staff-…
Perhaps you need to drag the dialogue up a bit to see the buttons.

Return presses the OK button and Esc the Cancel button

The file shows the screen after I've chosen voice and pressed OK in the lower window. I am not getting the OK button. What do you mean shift the dialoguie up?

You can certainly drag that dialog smaller, and then get to see the ok and cancel buttons in the lower right

If your screen is too small to display the full dialog, or your OS is magnifying everything larger than normal, there are ways of telling your OS not to do this. For instance, in Windows, find the EXE file for MuseScore in Program Files, right-click, Properties. Compatibility, and try different settings for the High DPI settings.

Yes I changed my system parameters and now I see the buttons at bottom right. Now a further question.
I have used the set sp option to get each system with 3 bars in it but there are only 5 sytems per page and I want more. How do I get that. I tried max inter system distance but that didn't work

ok I found out why; I was using page breaks
Thanks
