Musescore App is still free correct?
I have a student who says he downloaded the app but it is only a 7 day trial then it want's 200 a year. Did he mess up and try to sign up for pro, or does the app now only have 7 days for free (I'm assuming he messed up, but just checking.)

The MuseScore notation program is indeed free. Available from the links at the top of this forum.

That's what I thought...thanks so much!
Depends on what you call "app", the fully blown MuseScore Editor application for Windows, Linux and Mac is still free and will remain so, the MuseScore player applet for mobile devices, running iOS or Android is only partly free (free as a player for score online on musescore.com, non-free for scores stored on the device).
If you mean the former, make sure to cancel the free tial in time...

Thank you!!
Downloaded the iPhone app, and I see the OP's problem. There is no visible option for free use.
The "welcome" section gives you to a choice between
1. Free trial with charge after 7 days
2. Pro membership
3. custom paid options
There is no mention of any other possibilities. Anywhere. No timeout. It does not appear to be an overlay; you have never seen what the app looks like; there are no menus or sections. You're in a closed box which exudes 'Now that you know what the app does, purchase it to download it'.
The SOLUTION: A tiny "x" in the upper left corner will exit the subscription offer into the free app. It's possible the "x" starts off the screen and you have to scroll up to see it. Don't remember.
IMO, this is a very bad look for Musescore. :/
