Public playing
Hello, just joined to apologies if this has been covered a thousand times.
If I found a bunch of arrangements here and wanted to use them to play at a wedding that I was getting paid for in the UK, would I need to get permission from the arranger of each individual piece to perform them? Or from the original artist of the song/piece?
And can you contact each individual arranger directly in order to gain permission?
Many thanks

It is most likely not the arranger that holds the copyright, but the original composer (unless the piece is in the public domain meanwhile, usually because the composer is dead since more than 70 years). And that (primarily) is who's permission you need.
However: you don't find any arrangement here on musescore.org, but over on musescore.com, so your question belongs there

So I’m looking at the app on the iPad. What would that be .org or .com, and what is the difference? Thank you
