Instrumental Phrasing on Playback

I wanted to know if playback will play the phrasing of the violins, woodwinds, etc? When I place an "s" for Slur, I want to hear the continuous sound of the phrase except the "detached" sound I hear, like with the flute. Thanks for any input and advice.
