Wanna Add Support for 15/20/30 tones Paper Strip Music Box
Well, I purchased a paper strip music box online. And I use MuseScore to test the song before I really make the paper strip.
But if you compose a very long song, it is painful to mark the blank strip.
I found a software which can directly support edit paper strip and export print-ready strip PDF.
But the PC version of which will cost $15. (That's the price of a 15-tones music box in China!)
So I don't know is there any plan that MuseScore will support paper strip export function in the future.

Attachment is the paper strip encoded with the song , which is from Classical Japanese Karton, Ghibli Studio production, "Castle in the Sky". The paper strip's length is 1.7 meter.
I use this attachment in order to express that the Paper Strip Music Box is fun and has potential to play many songs.

I think that will be really cool.

Yeah!!!
This remembered me the old programming perforated cards.
I think there should be some kind of "standard" to this!!!
Is there some sort of recognized standard for this format? Or is it just some proprietary thing invented and used by one company only? Realistically, it's not likely MuseScore would be adding support for output other proprietary formats. In general, the expectation is that by exporting MusicXML, the providers or fans of those formats can provide the necessary tools to convert to their format of choice.

There's actually something for the kalimba, it's from ktabs. http://ktabs.theirhouse.org/ktabsMain.php
But if there was something that would be close to the "standard" format, it'd probably be using mario paint composer, since it's more of a piano roll format visually. Since the music paper roll itself "scrolls" to the right like how mario paint composer does so, when you actually turn the crank of the music box.

It's a recognised format, usually 15 or 30 notes. Some notes are deliberately not available to make best use of 30 keys. https://musicboxmaniacs.com can convert a .midi file to 30 notes. Some of the lower end bass notes do not have sharps., It would be good to get Musescore to highlight which notes are not playable.

I was looking for the same thing actually! I just wondered if it was possible to create a stave where all notes were deplicted in their own position. Ie no flats or sharps. It would be good to convert an existing stave into the music box stave. I would prefer to use musescore
I have built a device that punches midi files automatically. I have used a laser and mini cnc and i wrote a software for it. Very cool :)
