Editing final bars
Is there a way of stopping MuseScore from rewinding the focus of a piece back to the beginning if I want to edit and test out the final few bars?
Actually I anwered this myself - turn off the Pan Automatically feature. Might help someone else.

I guess you mean, you want to look at one set of measures during playback, while MuseScore is playing entirely different measures? If so, then yes, turning off the pan score automatically option is the way to go. Just be sure to remember to turn it back on afterward, as this is also used to make sure ordinary edit and navigation operations follow the cursor/selection.
If you aren't talking about what happens during playback, there shouldn't be a need to turn off pan score automatically, but then we'd need to understand more what you mean about MuseScore "rewinding the focus of a piece back to the beginning". That wouldn't normally happen unless you started playback from the beginning, or explicitly pressed Home (aka Fn+Left on keyboards that lack physical Home keys), etc.
Are you talking about the "loop" function?

Or he's talking about when playback reaches the end of a piece. The view is still the end, but the playback bar goes back to the beginning of the piece. If you edit the third measure from the end and hit play, playback starts at the edit. But then you want to hear it again. If you forget and don't select the third measure from the end, playback starts at the beginning of the piece.
