No matter what note I have selected, pressing >space> always starts playback from the very beginning. (The hanboks says "To play back all the instrument parts
- Click on a note or rest to establish the starting point.
- Press the Play button, or press Space.")
This is true even if looping is on and there is a section of the score surrounded by the blue flags that indicate the portion of the score that is supposed to loop.

I have the same problem. I haven't found a work around. New to v4 but using muscesore since 1.2. Problem started after working on 3 or 4 scores. I've shut down and reloaded muscesore4 but no change to always starting playback at beginning. Win 10 Intel.
The same thing happened to me after a deleted a repeat barline. For some reason when I deleted the repeat, it deleted every single repeat in my score and for some unknown reason, it kept playing from the beginning.
My solution was to replace the repeats and it somehow resolved the problem. I hope this works for you.
