Multi-measure rests will not turn on!
I follow the usual steps to turn on multi-measure rests, and nothing happens. The score appearance/layout remains unchanged. Screenshots of said steps and my score file are attached.
Note: I only use MuseScore to create learning tracks for myself of established compositions from the MIDI audio. Hence, the score attached here is not my creation. It's from Tomas Luis de Victoria, btw. I am singing it w/ others for Christmas.

Not sure what's going on for you. Opening that score and pressing "M" just works.
As does toggling that style option.
Perhaps try closing and reopening the score?

Solved---the M key worked. I was just trying to turn it on from the menus.

As mentioned, toggling in the style dialog worked perfectly fine for me as well.
